StemCyte CBB OB Training: Umbilical Cord Blood Collection Training for Public Donation
Thank you for your willingness to collect your patient's umbilical cord blood for public donation; a gift that brings hope to patients with life-threatening diseases who may need a transplant from a donated cord blood unit.
In order to collect cord blood for donation to a public cord blood bank, training and completion of assessment is required. Two opportunities are offered below: the first includes the training and assessment that fulfills this requirement, the second is an education activity.
Umbilical Cord Blood Collection Training for Public Donation
This training includes instruction on proper cord blood collection procedures and a post-training assessment. Both are required to collect for a public cord blood bank. After successful completion of training and assessment, you will receive a confirmation email.
- Approximate 7 minute completion time
- Includes post-training assessment (requires
100% passing score, with opportunity to retake as needed)
- Begin collection training now (PDF)
Upon passing the assessment, the training certificate is valid for one year. The program can be repeated for annual renewals.
Obstetrician's Role in Increasing Patient's Access to Cord Blood
This education activity provides a more in-depth look at how cord blood is used in transplantation, tools for helping parents decide to donate, as well as information on the proper collection procedures and process.
- 1-hour in length
- Access education activity
